01

ISO 9001:2015 Quality System

Active Manufacturing is an ISO 9001 certified manufacturer supporting custom metal prototypes, short-run parts, and low-volume metal assemblies. For engineers, OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, sourcing teams, and supplier-quality teams, that certification is a key trust signal: the work is supported by a documented manufacturing quality system, not just shop-floor experience.

Active's quality approach is practical, technical, and built around difficult metal parts. The team supports production-intent prototypes, repeat releases, tooling tryouts, bridge production, and complex components that may require stamping, forming, laser cutting, welding, EDM, machining, assembly, managed secondary operations, and inspection under one coordinated process path.

Active is not AS9100, NADCAP, CMMC, or ISO 13485 certified, and it does not claim universal DFARS compliance. Programs that require one of those company-level certifications may not be a fit. Customer-specific documentation, inspection, traceability, PPAP, SPC, or DFARS requirements can be reviewed during quoting to determine whether Active can accept the order as specified.

For aerospace-related work, review the aerospace prototype and short-run component guidance to understand how Active positions quality without implying unsupported AS9100 or NADCAP status.

03

Documentation and Traceability Options

Quality requirements vary by industry, part risk, customer approval status, and print requirements. Active can review documentation expectations during quoting so the correct inspection, material, and traceability path is considered before production begins.

Records to discuss during RFQ

Depending on the job requirements, buyer teams may request:

Material certifications when required and available through the material supply path

Lot traceability expectations tied to material, release, or customer requirements

Quality documentation for dimensions, inspection checkpoints, or critical features

First article inspection requirements when applicable to the program

PPAP or SPC expectations when required by the customer

Secondary operation documentation for outside processes when those operations are part of the ordered scope

PPAP and SPC are requirement-driven options, not universal promises. If your program requires them, note that in the RFQ, so Active can review the print, volume, process path, and documentation expectations before quoting.

04

Confidential and Controlled Project Handling

Active regularly works with confidential projects, NDA-sensitive work, and programs where the public website cannot show current customer names, applications, or part photos. That confidentiality is part of the company's trust position.

Controlled technical data should not be uploaded through an ordinary public web form. If your project involves ITAR, CUI, export-controlled files, NDA-restricted information, or other sensitive data, use the RFQ path to flag the secure-transfer need instead of attaching controlled files directly.

Secure file transfer expectations

When controlled or sensitive project files are involved:

1

Material certifications when required and available through the material supply path

2

Do not upload controlled files through the standard public form.

3

Active will coordinate the appropriate portal, folder access, and NDA requirements.

4

Preferred file formats for normal quoting are STEP, IGES, and PDF; other formats may be reviewed case by case.

We take confidentiality and controlled data seriously.

05

Industry-Specific Quality Considerations

Active's quality and compliance positioning is especially important for medical, defense, firearms, government, aerospace, automotive, electronics, data center, spring and stamping supplier, robotics, drone, power, and specialized industrial applications.

Defense, firearms, and ITAR programs

Active is ITAR registered and supports defense, firearms, and government-related work where the project fit, documentation, and secure-transfer requirements align. ITAR is a registration, not a certification. Review the dedicated ITAR registered manufacturing page for defense and firearms project considerations.

Medical and regulated-market work

Active supports medical-market work but is not ISO 13485 certified. Medical RFQs should identify material requirements, finish expectations, critical features, cleanliness expectations, and documentation needs so the team can determine whether the project and required controls are a fit.

Aerospace and supplier-quality reviews

Aerospace buyers often evaluate supplier fit through quality-system status, documentation expectations, process capability, and customer-specific approval requirements. Active can review customer-specific requirements, but it is not AS9100 or NADCAP certified.

06

Quality Starts Before the Job Runs

For difficult metal parts, quality is not only a final inspection activity. It begins when the team reviews the drawing, material, tolerance stack, critical features, forming requirements, joining method, outside processes, and production-intent goals.

Active's advantage is the combination of skilled people, specialized equipment, flexible capacity, and multiple coordinated processes. That matters when a prototype must represent production intent, when a short-run release needs repeatability, or when a supplier-quality team needs documentation aligned with the order.

FAQs

01

Is Active ISO 9001:2015 certified?

Yes. Active Manufacturing is an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer. The certification supports the company's quality-system credibility for custom metal prototypes, short-run metal parts, low-volume production, assemblies, and related manufacturing work.

02

Is Active ITAR registered?

Yes. Active Manufacturing is ITAR registered. ITAR is a registration, not a certification. If a project includes controlled technical data, do not upload those files through a standard public RFQ form.

03

What quality and traceability records can accompany an order?

Documentation depends on the part, customer requirements, material path, and order scope. Identify material certifications, lot traceability expectations, inspection records, quality documentation, and outside-process documentation during RFQ review.

04

Are PPAP and SPC available when required?

PPAP and SPC may be reviewed when required by the customer or program, but they should not be treated as universal deliverables for every order. Include those requirements with the RFQ, so Active can evaluate fit before quoting.

05

How should controlled project files be submitted?

Controlled project files should not be uploaded through the ordinary public form. Submit the RFQ contact details, indicate that secure transfer is required, and Active will coordinate portal or folder access and any NDA requirements.

The Right Quality Requirements

If your part requires certification review, traceability, inspection planning, controlled-file handling, or customer-specific documentation, include those details as early as possible. The more complete the RFQ package, the better Active can evaluate process path, timing, documentation scope, and project fit.
